Pottery Barn Stockings

I have been dreaming of a Christmas with nice personalized stockings for our entire family. We have put off getting them for several years now, but this year I am prepared.

I came across a site called Uglysofa.com when I was Googling my children's name for personalized items. Turns out they have Pottery Barn (Brand X) stockings that have already been monogrammed by the truckload. I've been stalking their site for weeks hoping that my children's out of the ordinary names would be added. And sure enough, as of tonight, we have an entire set of stockings for our family.

Repurposing

I bought this cute shirt at Goodwill, but the baby was crying so I didn't have a chance to try it on. When I got home it didn't fit, so I decided to re-purpose it into a boutique style outfit for my daughter. This one shirt was enough fabric for a pair of ruffle pants, embellished shirt, and rosette bow. I still have a little bit left to make something for the baby to coordinate.

Wooden Model Ship

This wooden model ship was bought by my husband on Shopgoodwill.com. It was originally going to be a gift to his grandfather, but instead became part of our Navy motif in our living room. We don't know much about it, but found another just like it being sold by an art gallery on Ebay.

Pottery Barn Kids Racetrack

This Pottery Barn Kids wooden racetrack set was found new in the box at Goodwill for $14.99. It'll make a great Christmas gift for my youngest son who is so into trains and cars. My research shows that this set was made in 2004 and retailed for $129.99.

J. Crew Sportcoat

I was looking for some sort of dress coat for my youngest son to wear at a fancy dinner we have coming up. I stumbled across this J. Crew sportcoat in his size. Again, I decided to look up it's value and was pretty shocked.

Coinasaurus

My oldest son saw this bank and had to have it. At $4.99 it was pretty cute. And it solved the issue of him leaving change laying around. I looked up the value once we got home.

Coinasaurus is made by Big Belly Banks, a handmade in the USA company. He retails for $49.99.

Intro

My husband and I have enjoyed going thrift store shopping since we first got married six years ago. We love to hunt out new treasures and occasionally we find absolutely amazing deals. This blog will chronicle some of those deals.
